Well, today was quite an eventful day. I was just in One Utama for my weekly guitar lessons and I met the most unexpected person ever in front of Popular bookstore.

Now, if you belong to the Chinese music listening community, you should know about this talented cutie-pie.
But, I'll save you the trouble of having to look for information on him. As if you'd read through the whole thing anyway.

Quincy Tan was born in Kuala Lumpur on 10 Jan 1982.He revealed his astonishing music talent since he was in childhood. His music interest was inspired by a Yamaha-Electone Organ Concert in Malaysia which he attended since he was 9 years old. Since then, he begins his music journey by self-learning electone organ, piano and guitar. He won Champion in Yamaha Electone Organ Competition in primary school and amazed the professional judges by his self-learning and learn-by-ear abilities.

Besides music, Quincy Tan was an active student in all kind of activities at school such as sports, clubs, and uniform groups during teenage. He was a volleyball state-player, sprinter, high jumper, president of Youth Cadets and etc. At the age of 16, his music sense naturally inspired him to compose his 1st song. He never knew that this was the sign of his future destiny.

During tertiary, Quincy Tan studied Electronics Engineering Majoring in Computer at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya Malaysia(MMU). He graduated in year 2006 with First Class Honours Degree and he is a member of Golden Key International Honour Society as well. Quincy Tan had considered pursuing electronics engineer as career. However, his true enthusiasm and interest was music. His music talent was spotted by his current record label, Mainstream Music in year 2002. He had undergone professional vocal training and music composing in Mainstream Music and then started his music career at year 2006.

While in year 2001 studying at Multimedia University 1st year, Quincy Tan's unique vocal and fresh appearance impressed the record company during a Talent-Search audition. His talents and appearance looks alike Taiwanese Pop Singer LeeHom-Wang as described by the judges. He never expected he won the competition and offered a contract. However, Quincy Tan was hesitating because he was not well-prepared and he wish to complete his engineering degree before stepping into music career. At last, he had rejected the offer.

Although Quincy Tan had lost a great opportunity, he never give up improving himself by composing songs and polishing his music knowledges and skills. His endurance and passion to music was appreciated and discovered by his current record company, Mainstream Music.

In the year 2005, Quincy Tan represented Malaysia competed with 14 Asia countries' new singers for the honorable awards in 8th Asia New-Singer Singing competition, at Shanghai China. Fortunately, he grabbed the Best New Comers Award in 8th Asia New-Singer Singing competition. This experience had given Quincy Tan a lots of confidence and recognition to begin his music career.

In March 2006, Quincy Tan released his 1st debut EP, 《Quincy 陈仁丰EP2006》. His compositions 谢谢你捧场(Thanks for you support) and 幸福意外(Unexpected Wound) has gained attention and popularity throughout Malaysia shortly. Within 8 months after he released his EP in Malaysia, he received Bronze Medal New-Comers in PWH(Entertainment Journalist Association) Music Awards and his 幸福意外(Unexpected Wound) was nominated in Top 10 Golden Melody Awards(International Group), as well as 桃花源(Utopia) was nominated in Best Song Production.

Anyway. Took a couple of pictures with him because he's such a cutie-pie. That and I told him about my ambition to become a musician and got all tongue twisted and he was being all sweet about it and said good luck and "加油! [Jia You]".

He was being so sweet while taking pictures coz' I suck at taking self pictures, hence his funny face. There was a conversation going on about that and the second picture. Complete with subtitles!

Me: Quincy,可不可以跟你拍一张照片？[Can I take a picture with you?]
Quincy: 可以啊！来来。[Of course! Come come!]

Me: Oh. -insert sad face- 你要不要再来拍？[You wanna take it again?]
Quincy:随便你哦。*smiles* [It's up to you. :)]
Me: 没关系，hor? [It's no big deal right?]
Quincy: *shakes head* *smiles* 我来帮你拍。[I'll help take it.]
*takes phone, poses and fiddles around with button as I'm telling him how to use it*
*SMILES. SNAPS.*
Quincy: 哎呀。现在才拍到一半。 [Aiya. Now I've only taken half of us.]
Me: 没关系！没关系！谢谢！[It's okay! It's fine! Thank you!]
*runs away*

Haha. After that I ran off to Tower Records and bought a copy of his album for RM30 which is actually quite a steal. Not to mention it's rather good too.
HI QUINCY! AGAIN! FOR THE 5TH TIME!

Support your local artists people! Especially if you're looking for a decent Chinese album. And not something that *cough*jolintsai*cough* comes up with.

Another thing, why does he remind me of Evan Yo?
